Anchal Chauhan’s life story is a testament to resilience and determination. Born in New Delhi, Anchal’s life took an unexpected turn at the age of four when she suffered a spinal cord injury. Despite missing several years of school, she persevered, completing her education and excelling in extracurricular activities, from college festivals to fashion shows.
The Decision to Study Abroad
Driven by her ambition and determination to grow, Anchal moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her Master of Science in International Accounting and Finance at Aston University. Leaving the familiarity of her home country was a challenging decision, especially as someone with a disability, but she was determined to seek better opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The Transformative Power of Inclusivity
In the UK, Anchal experienced a level of accessibility and support that enabled her to thrive. Aston University’s commitment to inclusivity through ramps, elevators, assistive technologies, and understanding faculty ensured she could focus on her studies without unnecessary hurdles. This welcoming environment helped Anchal grow academically and socially, eventually leading to her employment with HSBC Bank in Birmingham.
The Global Reality for Children With Disabilities
Anchal’s success story underscores the importance of removing barriers for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, many children in developing countries face limited access to medical care, education, and inclusive environments. Infrastructure and resources often fall short, leaving countless children without the support they need to reach their full potential.
How World Forgotten Children Foundation Supports Children With Disabilities
